Application Note and Engineering Data

These thin and flexible pipes can channel heat away from the hot spot in a tight place to locations of larger heat dissipating surface. It can maintain a temperature difference of 10 oC or less between the hot spot and the cold end. Keep the cold end cool then the hot spot will not get too hot.

It can be bent ~ 90o (radius ~ 8 mm).

Another application -installed in the bottom plate of heat sink to spread heat across the bottom plate.

Operating principle - based on the phase change of the working fluid inside the pipe. Fluid is vaporized at the hot end, flows to the cold end and then is condensed. Thus it moves heat away from hot end to cold end. The fluid then returns to the hot end by capillary effect thru a wick structure inside the pipe.
